sunday school
10:00 AM

Whoever you are, wherever you're from, you are welcome here.

Our Sunday School classes are taught by our Director of Youth Ministry, Nick Richardson, along with our Youth Ministry Assistant, Maggie Vowell. We use a customized curriculum that is designed to not only teach students the timeless truth of God's Word, but also to engage their minds in thinking about their faith and how it relates to their daily life. All adults working with our youth undergo a background check and MinistrySafe training.

What can I expect?

Each Sunday Night during the school year, from 4:30 - 6:30 pm, our students in grades 6-12 gather for an exciting time of amazing worship, modern music, relevant messages, games, snacks and small group discussions.
Sunday Night Youth is specifically designed and planned to create an environment that is both compelling and relevant to the student culture of our community.  Our music is modern, and our approach is both creative and innovative. All adults working with our youth undergo a background check and MinistrySafe training.

revive winter mission 2026

February 13–15, 2026 at Tyler Street Global Methodist Church in Dallas
$200 per student | Grades 6–12

Winter Mission is our warm-up to the full summer experience — a shorter, local mission trip that gives students a powerful taste of service, worship, fellowship, and hands-on ministry. It’s the perfect space for our youth to step out of routine and step into purpose.

Over the weekend, our students will:

✨ Serve real needs in the surrounding community
✨ Worship with youth from across the region
✨ Grow deeper in their faith and identity in Christ
✨ Build friendships that strengthen our ministry
✨ Experience what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus (Matthew 25)

This trip is an ideal on-ramp for students new to missions and a crucial reset for those preparing for Summer Mission Trip & Camp. Parents, we highly encourage you to push your student toward this weekend — it goes a long way in forming the self-directed, servant-hearted posture we want for every Ascend Youth student.

Important:
Winter Mission is first-come, first-served until the camp reaches capacity.

revive youth camp 2026

June 26-30, 2026 in Latham Springs, TX
**Registration Opens January 1st, 2026**

Revive is one of the biggest spiritual highlights of our year! Students experience powerful worship, Christ-centered messages, impactful small groups, and tons of fun — theme nights, games, late-night hangouts, and everything in between.

It’s a week where faith gets real, friendships grow deep, and students come home renewed, confident, and excited about following Jesus.

Our youth have been part of Revive years — a place where faith deepens, friendships form, and students grow in a personal, age-appropriate walk with Jesus.

We are thrilled to welcome this year’s youth into the experience.

next step summer mission trip

July 12-18, 2026 in Colorado Springs, CO

This summer we head back out with Next Step Ministries, but to a brand-new location: Colorado Springs, Colorado — July 12–18. We’ll be welcomed by several familiar staff from last year, which means our students get the gift of continuity — the same heart, the same mission, and the same spirit of discipleship poured into a new community.

If your student attended last year, they already know Next Step is a special team doing God-blessed work, and the week leaves a mark.

We can’t wait to serve, learn, and grow together again.

confirmation class

10:00 am in The Loft Classroom (2nd floor of Sanctuary bldg.)
Fall - Spring

This year, we are seeking all 6th and 7th graders who would like to participate in this opportunity to learn about God - Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Lessons will cover everything from Creation to our current expression of faith in the context of the Global Methodist Church. They’ll learn about the Bible. prayer and sacraments and the history of Christianity. But most importantly, they’ll learn how much they are loved by a good God who wants nothing more than to have a personal relationship with them.

Classes
  • Shannon Vowell is the lead teacher
  • Loft Extension Room on Sunday Mornings during Sunday School
  • 18 Classroom Lessons with occasional evening events
  • Students should bring their own Bibles

Contract
Because we believe Confirmation is so important for faith formation, we will encourage parents and students to sign a contract that outlines various expectations. We live in grace, but we certainly want strong intentionality in these learning environments. The contract will be available at the information meeting.

If you'd like to learn more about Confirmation Class, please contact Shannon Vowell at savowell@att.net

summer mission trip

When youth serve on a mission trip, they get to be a part of real change by participating in the work that God is already doing in the local community. When students and communities connect they join in the bigger story of what God is doing in the world around them. We are proud to offer meaningful Christ-centered mission trips for middle and high school students that broaden perspectives, ignite new friendships, and grow compassion. Each summer we offer 1-2 mission trips.
